They say you should pop in every week so you don’t miss out on a great find, but I find that every time I go, I come back with boat loads of fun stuff.

With that savings we were able to make the transition from working crazy full-time hours in a stressful corporate job to taking a risk and eventually being able to work from home (amazing!!).All this while still enjoying DIY projects around the house, putting on a new metal roof and buying fun new appliances.

So if you’re not going to get a decent amount of money to put into savings from the sale of your old house, start putting a bit away now!.Pick the RIGHT farmhouse. If you’ve decided you want to live the old farmhouse dream, just be aware that not all old farmhouses are created equally.

Our house is 114 years old and houses this age have gone through a lot of owners and a lot of different  renovations.Typically, some good renovations, and some not-so-good.

Be on the look out for a farmhouse that you can live comfortably in NOW and work on little by little over time.

When I say over time, I mean LOTS of time. The thing is though, it’s the first room I see when I get up in the morning and it was looking pretty sad after all the Summer decorations had been put away.

So I added in a few.hints of Fall, just to make it feel a little happier in there for now.. Oh, and this post should really be subtitled “….and then I added more burlap”, cause that was my solution to pretty much everything in here..

OK, so now you see what I mean about the burlap!.I used it as a table cloth….. And a lantern filler….
